Screening Requirements for Intended Mothers / Egg Donors
During this first visit, you will meet with Dr. Doyle and/or other members of CT Fertility´s medical and nursing team to review your specific goals; describe all aspects of your testing and treatment cycle; discuss the IVF and surrogacy processes in detail; and review any questions or concerns which you may have. At that time we will assist you in completing the required FDA Screening Questionnaire and appropriate consent forms will be provided.
We will need to perform a physical examination within six months of you treatment cycle. If you do not have this performed at CT Fertility, then your physician must provide us with a completed Physical Examination Form which we will provide you.
The required FDA Screening Bloodwork ensures that essentially no risk of serious disease transmission to your carrier is present. These tests include HIV-1/HIV-2, Hepatitis B Surface Antigen, Hepatitis C Antibody, CMV, RPR, and cervical cultures. In addition, genetic counseling and testing is encouraged if you have any concerns about your specific family history.
PLEASE NOTE: This FDA-required bloodwork MUST be performed ONLY in an FDA-approved laboratory. Therefore, if you do not have your bloodwork drawn by us and intend to use a local laboratory, you MUST confirm with us that the lab which you plan to use meets FDA standards, and allow us to place the request order.
Also, this bloodwork must be performed TWICE -- FIRST as a screening test WITHIN SIX MONTHS of your treatment cycle; and AGAIN WITHIN THIRTY DAYS of the egg retrieval.
