Levent Keskintepe, PhD Lab Director
Levent Keskintepe has been executive director of IVF laboratories at Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM) since 2001. Prior to becoming Executive Laboratory Director at Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine, Dr. Keskintepe was a Senior Research Scientist and Director of Transgenic Core Facilities at Medical College of Georgia in Institute of Molecular Immunology and Genetics. After completion of his PhD and Post Doctoral training at the University of Georgia under the Dr. Benjamin Brackett supervision, he worked as Embryologist and Lab Director at Reproductive Biology Associates at Augusta and Medical College of Georgia.
For much of his academic career, Dr. Keskintepe has focused on mammalian oocyte in vitro maturation, fertilization, and embryo culture as well as embryo freezing. He published more than 100 publications in national and international journals. The main research interest areas of him are oocyte and embryo freezing, embryo culture, and early embryo genetics.
His current academic work addresses the question of "selecting competent oocytes and embryos for transfer and vitrification". Dr. Keskintepe is an adjunct professor at University of Nevada, School of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and member of American Society for Reproductive Medicine, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, Society Study of Reproduction, International Embryo Transfer Society, Xi chapter of Phi-Epsilon Honorary Veterinary Society.
