Nina Bowman-Sekscenski became the mother of Max, thanks to the IVF treatments provided by Dr. Michael Doyle at CT Fertility. What's unusual with her case is that the sperm used to fertilize her eggs came from her late husband Bill, who had passed away just hours before.
Nina and Bill, a married couple from Stratford, CT had decided to commence fertility treatments after trying unsuccessfuly over the course of five years at becoming pregnant.
Because Bill had just recently signed a consent form to allow Dr. Doyle to utilize his sperm to fertilize Nina's eggs, Dr. Doyle and a urologist at Bridgeport Hospital felt comfortable proceeding with the sperm collection and egg fertilization.
Nina became pregnant after the first try and despite a difficult pregnancy, delivered a beautiful baby boy named Max. The following is a heart wrenching story about love, loss and birth.
