We came to CT Fertility in February 2010 after 16 months of trying to conceive and braving the fertility specialists in NYC. My husband and I both have issues that make fertility a big challenge. After meeting with three NYC specialists, we were told we only had a 2% chance of conceiving, and that we should jump immediately to IVF. As I sat in a NY hospital waiting room listening to this then-terrifying information about our low chances of conception and feeling like a number rather than a patient, my husband and I weighed our options. We realized we hadn't bothered to explore fertility doctors in CT, which had become our home. Much of our family became concerned about our ability to find fertility specialists in the CT area that would rival the "genius" a New York fertility specialist could offer. But we weren't discouraged.
One weekend while running errands, I heard an ad on the radio for CT Fertility and wrote the number down. We researched the office online and learned Dr. Doyle had a fabulous reputation-- in fact, two close family friends were blessed with their beautiful babies after seeing Dr. Doyle. We had to meet this fertility "genius" and get the process going! Dr. Doyle was the only doctor to review our medical information and provide an alternative to IVF. He suggested we try IUI. We questioned our odds with IUI-- especially since my husband's sperm count was low, my FSH levels weren't great, and one of my fallopian tubes was narrow. Dr. Doyle was the only doctor of all the ones we met with that saw things from a fresh perspective and totally new angle. He suggested we pool my husband's sperm (freezing a few samples before the IUI) and then combining a fresh sample the day of. That, in combination with injectibles, gave us our first baby-- a boy born December 2010. Surprisingly, it was our very first IUI and it worked! The wonderful nurses and staff even said, "miracles happen." Based on this great success and after another year of trying on our own, we came back for a second baby in spring of 2012. We decided on the same protocol as before with IVF being the next step if it didn't work. Believe it or not, the first IUI worked once again! We are expecting our second baby (a girl) in March of 2013. I would recommend Dr. Doyle and CT Fertility over and over again. And this isn't just because my first IUIs worked both times. My story is incredibly unique in that respect. I would recommend Dr. Doyle, because he doesn't have a one-size-fits-all approach to fertility. Just like me, you are unique and how you get to your special bundle of joy will be a special journey-- one made much less difficult when you have a caring, thoughtful team by your side. Dr. Doyle is a fertility visionary; if you want options, CT Fertility is the place to be! ~A&J - CT
